In this course we will learn about how the nervous system controls movements. The first half of the course will focus on invertebrate motor neuroscience, covering the fundamentals of movement generation and coordination. The second half will focus on humans, emphasizing learning, development and disorders. By the end of the course, you will gain a basic understanding of the subject (e.g., knowledge, methods, theories) and you will learn to apply course material to solve problems in neuroscience.
We will also develop skills related to reading, understanding and talking about scientific research.
